A cattle farm company, PT Superindo Utama Jaya (SUJ) wanted to expand their operations but were constrained by their limited grazing area in their relatively small oil palm plantation. As one of the key cattle suppliers for Sumatra Island, Lampung has established multiple breeding and fattening business models in the province. Intensive models, such as Cut and Carry, is more common in the province due to seasonal climates which will affect grass availability and the high number of agricultural waste as potential feed substitutes.

  2. Commercial breedlots are legal business entities which focus on raising livestock to breed and produce new, young livestock with inherited traits (BPS, Large and Small Livestock Establishment Statistics 2020)
